Each log cabin is equipped with a stylish and comfortable open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area and fully fitted bathrooms, making the shared facilities of the site a thing of the past. Visitors can however still use the communal dining room for evening meals, breakfasts and afternoon teas. There is also provision for disabled visitors, with one of the cabins being fully fitted with a range of disabled facilities.
The new cabins replace existing buildings which had been on the site for some 40 years. This has allowed the accommodation to be upgraded to 21st century standards and also provided additional sleeping space for larger families. Rural Log Cabins won the order because of the quality of the cabins and the ability to deliver to tight timescales for the summer season. All cabins are already fully booked for August and the early part of September.
Each cabin has a comfortable living space with an open plan lounge and dining area and a large verandah to allow for outdoor living. The cabins are also designed to be eco-friendly, using natural and sustainable materials throughout and incorporating levels of wall and roof insulation which are much higher than the British Standard requirement for leisure homes. This gives a much improved thermal performance, making cabins cooler in summer and warmer in winter. The double-glazed window units are gas-filled and have low-emissivity (low-e) glass coating. These, together with the insulation, also provide an excellent acoustic performance, making the cabins extremely quiet.
“We knew that the log cabins had to be comfortable, stylish, practical and of the highest quality, in keeping with the customer’s brand values,” says Steve Missen, Managing Director of Rural Log Cabins. “My team has worked extremely hard to deliver to the high standards expected. All the log cabins have been delivered from our manufacturing partners in Latvia and it is this close relationship that allows us to ensure the consistently high quality of all the workmanship.”
