Blackdyke Fisheries our latest construction project has begun, after the completion of the design phase we have started to build both the Entrance & Shop and the Accommodation Block cabins at the location near Lakenheath in Norfolk. The site is home to a beautiful Trout Fishing Lake (Rainbow & Brown Trout) and already houses superb cottages available for long term rental. |

This project involves the construction of two cabins identical in size but very different in internal layout.
The Accommodation block has conventional house style layout with two double bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen & living area with an additional office room.
The Entrance & Shop block is a completely different layout with a large shop area and with additional male, female & disabled toilet & changing facilities. It is an excellent example of how two seemingly identical buildings can be made to serve two completely opposite functions. |

The Blackdyke project is a landmark for Rural Log Cabins in the fact that it is our first to be constructed completely on-site (excluding window & door units). Rather than bringing custom made sections onto site for assembly, we have fabricated the timber frame sections on-site thus shortening the construction process and completely avoiding any potential problems with incorrect sizes or ill-fitting sections.
This new method has proved to have many benefits and we will be using this procedure again wherever possible in future projects. Installation of electrical wiring etc has proven to be much easier for this project than previous jobs as the walls and ceiling area are completely available to our electricians rather than having to operate within the confined space of pre-built sections. |

As the construction for Blackdyke Fisheries continues, the on-site Webcam will be available for viewing so that people may keep track its progress and small movies compiled from the webcam footage will be available to in the Webcam Library.
Blackdyke Fisheries promises to be a challenging and ultimately rewarding project that will provide it's owners with two superb buildings that will be in use for many years to come. |
