Here at Rural Log Cabins we believe that flexibility is the key to helping a customer design the home of their dreams. Although we have a large catalogue of ready-made designs, we actively encourage you to tell us exactly how you would like your finished cabin to look.
No matter how weird and wonderful your personal design ideas might be, we are happy to accommodate them - that makes us pretty unique and our customers extremely happy! |

One of the first and most daunting hurdles to cross is planning permission. Because of the wide ranging concerns of each different planning authority, there is no guaranteed way of ensuring that any given project will be certain to receive the necessary planning permission.
Our company director Steve Missen has many years of experience in compiling and submitting planning proposals to many planning authorities all over the UK.
If you are not sure to proceed with your proposal, we will meet with you or talk you through the steps you will need to take. We can offer everything from basic planning advice up to a full proposal preparation service to get you permission for your dream cabin.

A major requirement for a successful planning proposal is to have a full developed cabin design, with this in mind we offer a full drawing service which can supply full colour scale floor plans and elevations so that anybody can see exactly how your project will look upon completion. We can design cabins based solely on sketches you provide, entirely to your own ideas, or we can modify one of our ready-made designs. Simply browse through our online designs and choose the closest to your idea, then let us know how you'd like to modify that design..
This can be done by downloading and printing the drawings from this website. Then just add your modifications and send them to us. We will then give you accurate pricing and timings for the cost and construction of your project. We can then if you wish provide you with custom-drawn plans to become the core of your planning proposal. |

In our downloads section there a number of documents providing basic planning assistance, these are free to download and in many cases have proved extremely useful in answer frequent customer questions.
In the early stages of the design phase of a cabin we will also ask the customer to look at the specifications options list that we provide as this will enable us to give a fully accurate pricing structure to the project. This options list goes into detail regarding the extra options available in the areas of electrical & plumbing fittings, drainage etc. |
